APB
« on: March 13, 2010, 09:13:37 am »

I've noticed now that game genres that I've never been particularly fond of are producing games that are beginning to make me a fan.  I believe that it's because they've traditionally been set in fantasy worlds which don't hold much sway over me.  Mass Effect, Borderlands, Alpha Protocol and now APB.

It's a GTA style MMO, or a massive game of cops and robbers that immediately has me reminiscing about childhood games with friends. It's a brilliant idea that makes me wonder why more MMOs aren't shooters or action games but rather point and click games.

It's got extensive character, weapon, and vehicle customization and looks really promising.

Everything I see and read about the game looks/sounds awesome, but I am waiting to see how it really turns out.  I'd love to see APB turn out as good as the teasers make it look.

Beta Application:
http://www.apb.com/beta-application/

I thought I had done this a couple months ago but I hadn't.  In the clan section, put BHN and this website. That way they may accept many of us and we can play together as a real faction within the Beta.

I just went there and got a 404. : (

Edit: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/apb-beta/x is the wrong link...remove the x so it's: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/apb-beta/ and you'll get it. : )

In the process of downloading the 7.32 GB.  Its going to take a couple of hours.  I think I have a pretty solid connection, so I feel bad for people with worse.

Ouch.  I wouldn't even bother if I had a connection that slow..

Wow that looks pretty amazing, I used to play WoW occasionally a few years ago and got up to level 40 or something I think...I just liked the interaction of playing in a huge world with loads of other human players. However I've never really seen another MMORPG that's caught my interest so haven't played any, but having watched some trailers for this I think I'll have to buy it!

Same goes for Red Dead Redemption.

I thought you were done with gaming Death.  If others around here get going on Red Dead Redemption, I think I'll join in too.  That game looks fantastic.  This one doesn't interest me - but the GTA series didn't either.  Glad to hear you are thinking of getting back on that horse Death!
