Some new gameplay vids! Btw I was surprised there wasnt a topic already for this game, so had to start a new one.

I watched the first three and wasn't too excited. Especially coming off my first MMO experience with the Champions Online beta.  Then I watched the 4th video and that changed.
The game has multiple player classes each with their own unique story line.  That's a lot of game to experience.  Plus it has Star Wars fans playing it so that's a huge obsessive fan base.  I'd pass on this game purely on principle [of not wanting to get hugely obsessed with a game].

not to bash you or anything but basing ur opinion on ur mmo experience of a beta version of a 2009/2010 mmo game doesnt do it justice.

I got burned pretty bad by SWG, I'm not holding my breath at all.

The next big MMO I guarantee I'll buy is going to be the next Blizzmmorpg, and not any more wow:xpacs.

Well the beta allowed me to judge whether or not the genre was something I would like so it's entirely appropriate to make a decision off of that.  I like the superhero genre more than I like Star Wars which gives me a good idea of what I'd take from the game.  All RPGs are about quests and leveling and getting loot which are compelling.  Add in the MMO aspect and it includes social gaming and guilds.  From my experience and from watching the videos, which I said I liked by the way, the thing I enjoy about these games are the RPG aspects.  I think a co-op RPG is more up my alley.

@Apoc, Champions Online is great - there will be a character wipe for retail though. : (

I say this only from having level cap'ed a toon in City of Heroes, and then bailing for WoW, before CoV took hold...

Basing MMO's on CO isn't a great basis in my opinion - it's still not as polished and refined as WoW was when it beta'ed and retailed. : (

I'm not talking about polish or particulars.  I'm talking about whether or not I like the game type enough spend my money and my time playing it.  The beta was basically a demo for me.  I played for 2 weeks and I saw the changes they made through the feedback of the players.  All that's left for them to do is make tweaks that I, as a person new to MMOs and RPGs, wouldn't even notice.

I too was burned by SWG long ago, but I'll tell you this. I've never once been disappointed with a game that was developed by Bioware. In my opinion they have just as good a track record (granted not as successful) as Blizzard, especially when it comes to RPG's. Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Never Winter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass  Effect, etc.

I have played too many MMO's for my own good and have been burned in the end by most, but with that being said I would still put my trust in Bioware with this game. The only thing that worries me, is if they can keep pushing out the content at a pace that will satisfy MMO gamers. Bioware is notorious for slow development.
