Steam finally unlocked my pre-order at about 4 pm Central US, so it's DL'ing fast and ferious.  At 12% as we speak!  Can't wait (I never got a chance to try the beta, so I have no clue how it will look on my new rig).

my download has stopped and says "Download Starting..." It wont resume. Restarting steam isnt helping. I vowed to never preorder on steam after borderlands. I should have gone to gamestop. Arg!

50% here too, at about 700-900 kbps.

I'm out and about tonight, might play a little tomorrow...

It's not that big a deal that I wouldn't purchase from Steam again - not playing the game until later in the day it came out or until the next day even - not gonna change my life or anything.  But I can see where owning the discs and slappin' 'em in right away would be nice.

My experience with Steam is really positive on the other end of the spectrum - whenever I do a reinstall of Windows (which always happens sooner or later), I don't have do throught the painful and tedious patch and re-patch process.  Just re-downloaded CoD4 and was playing it straight away - no patching, no mess!  So there is that side to it....

I'M AT 67% BTW!!!
